Given the plethora of new texts available for teaching women of the eighteenth-century, The Aphra Behn Society would like to sponsor a syllabi exchange to explore the potential for these new materials. The Society Homepage includes a link for On-line Resources for Teaching [http://prometheus.cc.emory.edu/behn/resources.html] which we would like to expand and make generally available for anyone interested in teaching the eighteenth century. This session will include between five and eight participants in a round-table discussion about their respective syllabi; these syllabi will be available on the website prior to the meeting, but they will also be distributed in hardcopy at the session. An electronic forum for discussing the syllabi will be established prior to the meeting so that we will have some questions and topics for further discussion ready at hand for the meeting.
Participants will submit a full course-syllabi, with brief description, reading schedule, sample assignments and supplemental bibliography. During the session, we would like to feature syllabi from a variety of disciplines, with both innovative thematic courses and general survey material. Participants will each have five minutes to summarize their course content, and the remaining time will be devoted to questions and discussion.
