Proposal Memo for Web Technical Report

Write a one-page proposal (in memo format) to your projected audience. In the memo, define the information need or the problem that your group intends to address. Your memo should:

  1. Identify the need/problem and state its signficance;
  2. Prove the need/problem exists;
  3. Demonstrate that the need/problem is worth taking the time and money to solve.

Organize your proposal as follows:

1. Introduction--Define the need/problem and provide an overview of the solution or plan.

2. Background--Situate the need/problem, and if appropriate, address previous attempts to deal with the need/problem.

3. Rationale and Significance--Define the need/problem, prove that it needs to be addressed, provide a brief description of the potential solution(s).

4. Management--Explain how you will divide the work and project deadlines to complete each part. When do you plan to have the research phase of your project done? Visuals, HTML scripting, editing? Set up a specific timetable.

5. Qualifications--What makes your group qualified to complete the particular project? Mention majors, work experience, interests, etc.

NOTE: Each group turns in one proposal.
